
Mid Kent Water is the licensed water
supply provider for in most of Kent in
the south-east of England. The supply area covers 2,050 km sq, including
the principle urban centres of Ashford, Maidstone and Canterbury and
the surrounding rural areas. It serves a resident population of nearly
600,000.
Mid
Kent Water was initially incorporated in 1898 to supply water from
a well to one small town.
Mid Kent Water manages an extensive distribution mains network and
is constantly expanding the system to cater for new development within
its supply area. We are continually looking at the planning and development
of new water resources to meet future predicted changes in customer
demand, which are economically and environmentally sound.
Mid Kent Water has an excellent record of leakage control, with one
of the best performances in the United Kingdom.
Mid Kent Water has a major capital investment programme to further
improve water quality. The programme is well advanced in reconstructing
treatment plants and refurbishing water mains.
